How to Teach Letter S to Young Kids

Teaching Letter S is fun for the kids; one because the shape is very easy to memorize and two, because the shape resembles the movement of a snake.  The sound of S is Ssshhhh.  You could either teach it by placing your pointer finger in front of your lips to say, ssshhhh, as a sign of silence or you can do it by pressing your palms together and moving it in an S shape, at the same time saying that S is like the movement of a snake.  The kids will likely follow you and enjoy the movement with their hands.
