How to be a good worker and an effective employee

Having a job is fulfilling but if problems occur you could be facing the most critical situations in your life. That is because you need that job and you cannot afford to lose it. There are usually problems at work either with your boss or your co-worker. This is sometimes inevitable given that a working place is where different individuals try to communicate and socialize.

How can you handle situations in order not to get fired or be hated by your co-workers?

1.  Be an Efficient Employee

if you want to maintain your job, you should do your responsibilities as a worker.  This does not mean working hard only but being efficient includes your commitment to the company you are working with and your loyalty as a worker.  Think of productive ways to contribute to the betterment of the company you are working with.  This is the way to be an effective worker.  while working is a great help, your boss wants a share of your skills and being productive as a worker.  So, go for it and help the company you are working for prosper.

2. Be responsible

It is important as an employee to do your responsibilities at work even in the absence of your boss. Some people only show a good working attitude when the boss is around but when the boss is out they show the opposite attitude. A responsible worker works normally all the time with or without the boss around. You can be judged by what you are when nobody is watching you at work.

3. Don’t Get too Close to Your Boss

You are making a bad image of yourself to you co-workers if you try to get too close to your your boss.Always maintain a good distance from your boss even if your boss is a friend of yours.  it is important to bear in mind that your working relationship with your boss must be separate from being your friend.  this will avoid any wrong assumptions from the people around which will lead to misunderstandings.  You may be your boss' friend but when you are at work, you should maintain an employee-employer relationship.

4. Keep a good working relationship with your co-workers

Be nice and kind to the people around you and you will get a similar treatment from them. A good relationship with co-workers will make you love your job and enjoy the working environment which in turn will make you a more effective worker and help you achieve better.

5. Understand individual differences

Understand that each person is an individual with a different attitude and actuation. In a working place you must be always ready to adapt to your working environment so that you can work more comfortably. Remember that you have to work with them harmoniously and you must be one of them or else you will be out of place. Your co-workers are the most important people around you. They are the people who socialize with you everyday and you must accept who and what they are.  Work with them and be part of the working force in order to be a more productive worker.

6. Respect the people around you

Respect is one of the best attitudes to maintain in a working place. If you respect your co-workers they will respect you in return. What keeps a good working environment and a good relationship of workers is the respect that is created in the working place. People who respect each other have good working relationship with each other that is why it is very important to maintain the respect.

7. Be a friend to the people around you

A friend is someone whom you could trust, share your problems and ask for help when the need arises. Your co-workers are the nearest people around you everyday. They are the people who are there with you everyday. It is not enough to work with them you also have to be a friend to them. Your being friends will develop a more harmonious and pleasant working environment which will help you work better and enjoy your job.

Working is fun and fulfilling only if you know how to handle situations in the working place. If you follow these simple tips, you can avoid being fired.
